Dreaming an IRL Event

1:00pm-2:00pm Sun Mar 22
(1:00pm Eastern is 10:00am Pacific, 11:00am Mountain, 12:00pm Central, 2:00pm Brasília)

Dreaming an IRL Event

We’d like to know if people in our online community would like to attend an in-person event, and what you would need to make that possible and fun.

SpiralHeart’s in-person camp community has been having discussions about what we’d like a typical day at camp to be. Some would like a more relaxed event, some like our current fairly full schedule. One thing we’re likely to do is to have an additional, shorter, in-person event. We’d like to get input from Convergence folks, both about camp and about shorter events. If you might be able to come to an in-person event, what would make it possible and delightful for you to attend?

(P.S. None of these things will be instead of Convergence — Convergence will continue being an annual online event.)

Introducing Aradia

7:00pm-9:00pm Thu Mar 26
(7:00pm Eastern is 4:00pm Pacific, 5:00pm Mountain, 6:00pm Central, 8:00pm Brasília)

Introducing Aradia

If you remember nothing else from this presentation, or if you cannot make it at all and want to glean one piece of information about Aradia, let it be this:

Aradia was sent to Earth by her mother, the Goddess Diana, to teach Witchcraft to the poor and oppressed common people, so that they could use it to overthrow their oppressors, liberating themselves.

Aradia is a figure from Italian folklore, worked with as a Goddess in modern Witchcraft, and was also a living person…? Join me for an informational presentation on this multifaceted Ancestor of Spirit. I’ll tell you her story (at least some versions of it), share some relevant research I did while learning about her, and tell you a bit of what I’ve been working with in my personal practice with her so far. We may (or may not) also have time for some focus around the types of magic of which Aradia is particularly a teacher and ally.

Wider context: I am currently co-planning a Rites of Passage class for April (online) that also works with her general story, as well as crafting a theme proposal for Spiralheart in-person camp around working with Aradia, and dreaming up other class, path, or workshop offerings with her for the future in community. Some of the friends I’m collaborating with on some of this work may be in attendance to this offering, in which case we’ll take some time to tell you about those other things we’re up to.

For transparency, I am continuing to work on this offering throughout the week leading up to it, so I will have a better idea of whether there will be time for anything else, when I am further along in gathering what I want to share with you. If we do any sort of practice, it will be something within the variety of magics she is associated with, namely protection/defensive magic, anti-oppression, and social justice. I will likely also share about how my feeling on this is connected to her role being not exactly the same as that of a typical Goddess (compared, for example, to worshipping her mother, Diana).

Come prepared to listen to some information about her that you can merely take in and enjoy, or perhaps use to begin working with her yourself on your own, if you so choose! My sacred task is not to make anyone else work with her, merely to share her story and my own enthusiasm.

Listening to the Descendants: SpiralHeart’s Anti-Racism Oracle Deck

8:00pm-9:30pm Mon Mar 16
(8:00pm Eastern is 5:00pm Pacific, 6:00pm Mountain, 7:00pm Central, 9:00pm Brasília)

Listening to the Descendants: SpiralHeart’s Anti-Racism Oracle Deck
In this witnessing/listening circle, we’ll practice the art of divination with a deck created by (and still in creation with) our community. The deck is formed from messages that came from the Descendants at our Spiral Convergence 2025 ritual, “A More Just World.” There, participants stepped into the current, to hear those who call us forward… The messages we received then traveled to play with community at Spiralheart’s Transition Magic weekend just months ago, and were illuminated further with art. Now at Convergence once more, we’ll call upon the Descendants and their wisdom again. We will pull cards for exploration, making space for the magic of chance, and ensuring that even the facilitators are in for some surprises.

Facilitators will have the cards to pull for attendees, or other ways for attendees to choose their card at random. Please bring a pen and paper or another way to record messages that come up, if you choose to.

There are no pre-requisites for this offering.
This is being offered twice during Convergence, so you have two opportunities to attend — come to one, or both!

Presented by members of Spiralheart’s Anti-Racism Cell:
Blood, Daedalus, Ember, Joan, and Ostara

Spiralheart is using story elements of The Wizard of Oz books that have been put into a story, for this year’s summer intensive. The world of Oz you thought you knew has some unusual twists and turns to get to publication. Did you know that there are direct links to the start of the women’s rights to vote? Or to the history of Paganism itself? Come discover something hidden under the Yellow Brick Road. Learn about the three people whose activist work influenced the creation of Oz and its author, the alternative religious roots that informed the world of Oz and bust some myths about Witches that were put forward by first the book, then later the 1939 movie.

(2:30pm Eastern is 11:30am Pacific, 12:30pm Mountain, 1:30pm Central, 3:30pm Brasília)

Sacred Witness Scavenger Hunt

Join me in getting to know some other Convergence participants! Let’s have some fun!

A couple of days before this offering, I’ll post our scavenger hunt list. The items will be the type of things that are already in our homes, with lots of room for creativity and interpretation. When we come together, we’ll share the stories behind what we’ve collected. Each of us will have the opportunity to share at least one story and be held in sacred witness.

I guess you could call this “witchy show and tell”. Participants will be invited to hold their items up to the camera or use the “share screen” option, if you have a photo, for example.

May there be sacred laughter, sacred tears, sacred connection.

Sanctuary and the Hearth: Justice Magic with Vesta

3:00pm-5:00pm Sat Mar 21
(3:00pm Eastern is 12:00pm Pacific, 1:00pm Mountain, 2:00pm Central, 4:00pm Brasília)

Sanctuary and the Hearth: Justice Magic with Vesta

In this time of darkness and fear, as those in power abuse their authority, we call on Vesta’s sacred flame to light the way to a better tomorrow.

In this workshop, we will connect deeply with Vesta, the Roman goddess of the hearth, home and family, and the state. We will discuss the connection between the hearth and government in ancient Rome, and will explore Vesta’s role as a protector of women, marginalized people, and immigrants. We will journey via trance to the Temple of Vesta, where we will witness the goddess in her sacred flame. Finally, we will call on Vesta’s symbols in a group ritual to bring light and protection to those resisting oppression.

Participants will be asked to bring a small light source for use in ritual, such as a candle, a flashlight, or a small lamp. Participants may choose to bring a head covering, such as a hat or veil, for use in ritual.

Prerequisites: None.

(5:00pm Eastern is 2:00pm Pacific, 3:00pm Mountain, 4:00pm Central, 6:00pm Brasília)

Song as Sanctuary, a Song Share Circle

Music is magic, and song can be a sanctuary.
This offering will be “come when you can.” You may pop in at any time during the hour to share, sing along, or listen.

Is there a song or chant you’d like to teach to others, hear others sing, or share and be witnessed? Everyone will have a chance to share a song, if desired, that others can learn and sing along with you, or that you can just sing and be heard. You are also welcome to enjoy the songs and sing along on mute, or not at all, being heard by no one else. This is an opportunity to share songs we love with community.

Storycrafting: Dreaming and Re-dreaming our Stories

7:00pm-9:00pm Sat Mar 21, Sat Mar 28
(7:00pm Eastern is 4:00pm Pacific, 5:00pm Mountain, 6:00pm Central, 8:00pm Brasília)

Storycrafting: Dreaming and Re-dreaming our Stories
Growing the Seeds of Meaning through Archetypes and Iteration.

Welcome to Storycrafting Path. Through various archetypes (previewing some from Oz), we will share our stories and dream and redream them together. Bring a story that you’re working on, or a story idea or seed that you are looking to develop. It can be an original story, or it could be a myth, story, or theme that you’re looking to develop as a submission for a future Witch Camp’s story/theme. The Storycrafting path will present some techniques to explore your story through archetypal analysis and dream-group techniques.

In the first session, we’ll explore what we brought to Convergence with us, explore how archetypes can be used in storytelling and exploring what they might unlock in our own stories. In session two we will explore what we’ve grown together, visiting and revisiting a scene or sequence from each story in a process borrowed from Jeremy Taylor’s published dream group procedure. We will also explore how our stories might be tapped into to inspire ritual arcs.

Strands of Resistance, Beads of Power

8:00pm-9:30pm Wed Mar 18, Wed Mar 25
(8:00pm Eastern is 5:00pm Pacific, 6:00pm Mountain, 7:00pm Central, 9:00pm Brasília)

Strands of Resistance, Beads of Power
This workshop is an exploration of, and meditation around, the principles laid out by historian Timothy Snyder in his short and readable book, On Freedom: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century. The book is available to read for free on Internet Archive; probably sold wherever you buy books; and held by a library near you. Reading the book prior to the session is encouraged, but not mandatory.

In Session 1 we’ll engage verbally with Snyder’s twenty pithy principles. In Session 2 we’ll create a tool to facilitate internalizing these lessons, taking us deeper. We’ll each make a set of prayer-style beads for this purpose— or, if you prefer not to procure and string beads, a printable coloring sheet is offered for your use.

More information and resources are in the Confidential Participants Calendar for attendees.

Tea & Tarot ☕🃏 (Divination Skillshare/Hangout)

7:00pm-9:00pm Thu Mar 19
(7:00pm Eastern is 4:00pm Pacific, 5:00pm Mountain, 6:00pm Central, 8:00pm Brasília)

Tea & Tarot ☕🃏 (Divination Skillshare/Hangout)

Tea and Tarot, Coffee and Cartomancy, Juice and Runes, Water and… Water for scrying! Whatever we call it, all sorts of (non-alcoholic) beverages and divination tools are welcome at this casual skillshare / chat / hangout! And if you don’t have a divination tool, you’re still welcome to attend and join the conversation.

I facilitate “tarot chats” online fairly regularly, and there are a few ways it could go. It depends on who shows up and what the range of skill levels in the room is! Completely new to divination? We can do a “beginner tips & tricks” and Q&A. Been reading for a while? We could pick a spread to do together and share what came up for us, or just chat about our personal practices and compare notes (have you ever wondered how other people shuffle their cards?). This is a two-hour session, so we could potentially do an hour of info sharing, and an hour of practice, to touch on both. How we spend the time will be based on who arrives, and where the interest lies!

I grew up watching my mother read tarot cards at our dining room table, but she didn’t teach me directly. I observed, and later taught myself through research and practice. I have taught others, and offer tarot & oracle readings online. My earliest divination tools were pendulums, oracle cards, dreams, and colored stones or charms. I now most often work with Tarot, oracle, scrying (various forms), and pendulums. I have some familiarity with Runes, Lenormand (cards), and tea leaf reading (I’m a BIG tea drinker), a very little passing knowledge of palmistry and ogham, and no more than knowing about the existence of many other methods of divination!

Wherever you are in your divination journey, you’re welcome to observe, ask questions, share, or simply enjoy the vibes.

Trance: Self-Care When the World’s on Fire

8:30pm-10:30pm Wed Mar 25
(8:30pm Eastern is 5:30pm Pacific, 6:30pm Mountain, 7:30pm Central, 9:30pm Brasília)

Trance: Self-Care When the World’s on Fire

We ask a lot of our bodies, and right now the world asks even more. We are being abused, mind-fucked, and gas-lit and in the process of shutting out the noise, we may have shut out the voices we NEED to hear.

In trance, focusing on our body, we open to its wisdom, listen to its needs, and come away with tools to ground our work for justice in an unregulated world.

Prerequisite: some trance experience.

Please bring:

1) a journal or reflective tool

2) an oil or lotion to massage your body (for example, favorite grounding massage oil, or even coconut/olive oil, whatever delights your body)

A part of being in community is feeling known. If you are new to the Spiralheart or Reclaiming community, this can be especially challenging during online events such as Spiral Convergence. If this is your first time participating in a Spiralheart or Reclaiming event, join us to meet the Spiral Convergence organizing team and other members of the community. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about what to expect during this year’s Spiral Convergence. You Deserve a Calm Nervous System: An Introduction to Vedic Meditation

7:00pm-8:00pm Fri Mar 13
(7:00pm Eastern is 4:00pm Pacific, 5:00pm Mountain, 6:00pm Central, 8:00pm Brasília)

“You Deserve a Calm Nervous System: An Introduction to Vedic Meditation” is a grounded, welcoming introduction to the practice of Vedic Meditation: an effortless technique that supports deep rest, clarity, and nervous system resilience.

In this talk, we’ll explore why so many of us feel chronically activated (even when life is “fine”), what it actually means to have a regulated nervous system, and how meditation can help you move from survival mode into steadiness. You’ll learn what Vedic Meditation is (and isn’t), what the practice feels like, and how it fits into real life, especially when the world around us is turbulent.

Come as you are: tired, curious, overwhelmed, hopeful. You don’t have to earn peace. You deserve a calm nervous system.
