Each year the Tributaries prayer bead set travels home with one Convergence participant. It returns to community at the start of the next Convergence. The Tributaries are a magical working that joins with the waters of world to move the recipient and the recipient’s communities “towards source and connection to healing, manifestation, and spiritual belonging.”
Who will be chosen: every Convergence participant willing to be chosen by the Tributaries for a year can enter their name. We will draw one name at random at a live drawing 6–6:30pm Eastern time on Friday March 29.
Powering the spell: One way we power this spell is by contributing to the Tributaries fund. (Money from this fund is split between funding the Reclaiming BIPOC Teacher’s Fund and the SpiralHeart BIPOC Mentor.) Please note:
- You don’t need to contribute to be chosen for the year.
- Every contribution empowers the spell. The amount does not matter, as long as it seems like a good size to you.
Convergence participants are able to enter the drawing. Everyone can contribute to powering the spell.
The Tributaries prayer bead set was made by Vesper, who writes:
The Tributaries Prayer Bead Set: A Call to Source and Belonging
“The ocean refuses no river, the open heart refuses no part of me, no part of you.”
The waters of the world come together in this bead set like tributaries to the ocean. In five (5) sets of nine (9) the practitioner swirls through the pentagram and empowers the tides of the moon to their Will.
The magic of these beads comes from the hands that move across it’s strings with intention. Become a part of the collective work of moving towards source and connection to healing, manifestation, and spiritual belonging.
Each holder of the beads is encouraged to add water to the heart piece to co-create a community waters of the world to empower the magic both before them and after them.
Before it’s first working the beads were lovingly selected and assembled while being sung over with chants to elements and the waters. They were then baptized in charged water and some of the waters were added to the heart centerpiece. They were present for a ritual with Reclaiming Pittsburgh and will sit at the feet of the spirits until they are sent to their first working with a lucky witch!
May your workings flow, like the rivers, healing and bringing what is needed to their shores. When the work is done may the beads of The Tributaries return to the great ocean of community. Then may they be picked up again by the winds and sky and brought to their next stream through the rains and roots of our shared magic.
With love and prayer,
Vesper
