Blood (they or he)

I have been meddling with —er, deeply involved in— the Reclaiming tradition since the late 1990s — in rituals, core classes, Witchcamps, sometimes in the streets with the Pagan Cluster. What I’ve learned seems to boil down to this: make the next mistake. Make the next of many mistakes. Make our mistakes in solidarity with each other, because none of us can do it alone, because every one of us is necessary.

I am a white person in Reclaiming, trying to participate in the work of undoing white supremacy in Reclaiming and beyond Reclaiming. Trying to be accountable as I make the next mistake. In solidarity, and not alone

earnest (they/them)

i live within the Minnehaha watershed which empties into the Haha Wakpa(River of many Falls/ Mississippi river). i can walk to a small park which has hosted MayDay celebrations for decades, and now the BareBones Samhain celebration – sometimes with as many as 10,000 celebrants. These are unceded ancestral lands of the Dakota people. my home community is Upper Mississippi River Reclaiming. my home camp is Winter Witch Camp

i am a white witch who has physical and reading access needs but does not identify as disabled. i do identify as queer and non-binary but not trans.

my journey with Reclaiming is made up of connection, learning and relationship with many amazing witches.

Moments i have loved are: helping form the Queer Magic Guild which sparked the first Winter Witch Camp in 2003;serving as a disability magic cell unicorn at Winter Camp 2020 and working with Spiral Heart Antiracist Cell as a guest member.

Most recently, serving as co-host of the UMRR Care Magic Tea Salon. i continue to learn from each witch i meet.

Because Reclaiming communities are willing hold rich discussions about culture, movement and language; they hold my heart. i continue to show up; for the learning, the edge pushing and the actionable change. For me, part of being accountable is showing up is all the presence and kindness i can muster. Gratitude and appreciation for all the work that went into creating the space and the magic it contains.

Forrestwoman (she/her)

Forrestwoman (she/her/hers) is a young crone in her 60’s. She is also a mother, lover, friend, healer, activist, songwriter, treehugger, and Witch. She has been a Witch for over 40 years, and a Reclaiming Witch for about 19 years. She feels most alive in the forest. Her super power is great love with boundaries. Her interests include ritual theater, ritual music, aspecting, tarot, and transforming the world by befriending her shadow self and helping others to do the same.

Joan (she-hag/hag/hagself)

At my core, I am a practical witch who sees what needs to be done and gets ‘her done! I look at the pain of the world and individuals with unflinching eyes and hear their cries with unflinching ears. I say “HELL NO!” to patriarchy and white supremacy. With the support, encouragement and guidance of My Wise Council, I help heal the world, one heart at a time. I train others to heal the world, one heart at a time. I work to undo racism and dismantle white oppression. I bring all of me to whatever I do. This year, as a Path co-facilitator, I bring my experience, skills, and deep commitment to the work ahead of us – at camp and beyond.

Juniper (she/her)

Juniper is a 71-year-old white, queer witch, writer, organizer, dreamer, drummer, and a Reclaiming Witchcamp priestex since 1995. She is also a core trainer and organizer with the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond, a 45-year-old, Black-led organization based in New Orleans. She, as part of a team, crafted and facilitated an 18-month series of unlearning circles for Undoing White Supremacy in Kink Community.

Juniper’s magic, grounded in activism, anti-racism, and abolition, has been forged in witch camps, in ritual, and in personal practice; but also drumming for Pagan Cluster on the streets of Quebec, Manhattan, and Cairo. Walking the pentacle on the floor of the Texas Capital. In tear gas. On a cot in the Travis County jail. Topless and covered with mud on the streets of downtown Calgary. Surrounded by riot cops as we spiral danced in Grand Central Station. Juniper practices the magic of mathematical chaos as a foundation for conjuring justice.

Ostara Hollyoak (she/they)

A witch since 1987 and a relic of the early years of MidAtlantic/SpiralHeart Reclaiming. After a hiatus while raising children, I returned to SpiralHeart camp in 2023 (with forays into some Reclaiming family camps in the interim).

I enjoy working with my hands and my mind and making meaning with story, symbol, and tradition. I delight in engaging with sacred space, sacred time, and Sacred Stuff; and hold up the importance of integrating sacred experience into, and through, our bodies.

Originally from the rural upper Midwest, I now live in the land of the Susquehannock and Piscataway peoples, in a place lately labeled Glenwood, Maryland. I share a house with my spouse, Dan, and one feline friend; and relish visitations from our adult “children,” Haven and Baz. In past phases of my life, I studied history and worked in careers as a librarian, massage therapist & teacher, and stay-at-home mother.

Pansie (they or he)

Pansie is a witch drawn to playing with the Fae and the magic of the hearth. Their magic is wrapped in a song that wells up from the core and feels connection to energy as an electric current of music, running against their skin. Called to the magic through a radical faerie retreat, they were a solitary practitioner until being lovingly embraced by the Baltimore Reclaiming community. Reclaiming brought structure and a strong community of support to their practice. You’ll often find Pansie with their spinning wheel, meditative but open to both jovial and heartfelt conversation.

Phlox (they/it)

Phlox is, at any time, probably thinking at least a little about dirt, and the things living in it. A gardener, crafter, and storyteller who’s just a bit odd, they probably were some sort of critter in their last life.

In no particular order, they’re a Reclaiming witch, Norse pagan, and Appalachian folk practitioner. No matter the tradition they’re working within, they find itself connecting with the natural world again and again. A devote of both Loki and loam, they’re learning to embrace the chaos and entropy that is inherent in the world around us.

It currently resides on the land, currently called Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Many peoples have called it home. Originally the Adena, the Hopewell, the Monongahela, lived there, and later, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and others displaced by colonization did too.

Pippin (they/them)

Pippin, a courageous fool in love with the magic and uncertainty of all things. I am a queer, trans, and disabled witch. I am currently living on the lands of the Massachsett, the Naumkeag, and the Pawtucket peoples in what is currently called Boston, Massachusetts. Starting in 2021, I’ve been practicing in community with the tending team, the ritual arc team, and the amazing group of Bower priestexes in the Spiralheart and Pittsburgh Reclaiming communities.

My magic centers edge work with ancestors, plants, somatic healing, and sex magic allied with benevolent tricksters. My practice is rooted in an anti-racist commitment of working through the discomfort and violence of white supremacy with my fellow white comrades to honor and uplift the voices of our BIPOC community members and teachers. As a kinkster, switch, and slut, I love the sweet torture of service and power play. This is my imperfect approach to the messy, ecstatic, and necessary work of changing and decolonizing the world.

Spark (they/them)

I am a white, queer, trans, disabled Jewish Witch living on the lands of the Massachsett, the Naumkeag, and the Pawtucket peoples in what is currently called Boston, Massachusetts. I have been practicing and studying magic in the Reclaiming tradition since 2017. I have been a Path Facilitator and a Ritual Arc Team member for Spiralheart Witch Camps, and co-created and priestexed many community rituals, both in person and in virtual spaces.

My practice centers on somatic healing, intergenerational and ancestor work, and divination. I cherish relationships with Time, with allied microorganisms, fungi, and plants, and with the Hearth, and my work in these spaces is enriched by scientific story-Myths. I receive messages through ancestors, descendants, somatic energy, and Time streams, and I honor the magic passed down to me in a lineage of Jewish healers and magic workers. I am a knowledge-keeper, collecting wisdom on the mysteries of how we as beings on earth move together and come apart in easy and hard times. I am a nexus, using listening to ignite synergy between people, ideas, and ancestors across time to create a more kind, free, and peaceful world.

Vesper Amanita (it or they)

On the path to find the Beloved, the Seeker forever turns to find themselves wrapped in the divine love of their own arms.

Vesper is a person who does many things but all with the same goal in mind: connection, freedom, and repair. Their work has taken them to the streets and stone circles, and in each place, they have found resilience and tenderness wrapped up in an inseparable web. Whether it is in witness to a mystical experience, the rallying chants of protesters, or in the sensual chambers of our temples they have found the shining and terrible realness of humanity locked within each experience.

With extensive knowledge in sexual health education, ritual arts, and death work, Vesper has spanned the lifetime of the human experience in their tending work. They are the Local Master of Golden Thread O.T.O., a main organizer of Reclaiming Pittsburgh, and a founding member of Return to Stardust Death Care Collective. Vesper is also a meditator, master gardener, and artist and these joys permeate the work of their life. With enthusiasm, honesty, and wisdom Vesper is delighted to weave sensuous spaces and empower people to seek their pleasure and joy in all things.
