Remember who you said you would be before ‘it’ happened?
Urd
Who/what were you? What did you have to leave behind/let go of? What do you WANT to leave behind/let go of? How do you remember where you were?
Where does it live in your body?
How can you nourish your roots as you continue to grow?
Verdandi
This moment is here. And here. And here. It is in the breath. In the body. In the chambers of the heart. This present asks you to arrive, to breathe it in, to honor what is happening, to do the next right thing until you have built a life.
Because moments are sacred and scared. They are arriving and asking something of you: what might you do with this wild and precious life?
Because the next moment might be the last.
Or it might be the beginning.
That’s up to you.
Skuld
Remember all the big plans you had before it happened? Are you finding it difficult to regroup in the aftermath of dreams cut short, or is there a dream you have not yet captured, veiled
beyond the Now? Are you seeking to loose the tangles that have bound your inheritance and lineage? A warning to those who seek to prune their Endings are often bittersweet, even
when you wanted it to end.
“You get what everyone gets; a lifetime.” Death: The High Cost of Living, Neil Gaiman
What then?
What now?
What next?
Let’s find out together.

Magic, Power, and Racism: Unraveling Legacies of Oppression in our Craft

July 17:  12pm-2pm  &  4pm-6pm
July 24:  12pm-2pm  &  4pm-6pm
July 25:  12pm-2pm  &  4pm-6pm
July 31:  12pm-2pm  &  4pm-6pm

To participate in this offering, please commit to attending all eight sessions.

We are woven together with ancestors into an intricate tapestry of magic. Some parts of the tapestry have holes. Some parts are patched with stolen materials. There are people who have been deliberately woven out of the tapestry. Many of the most alluring colors have been produced using heavy metals and poisonous dyes. If we burn the weaving in our shame and our despair, we destroy ourselves in a cloud of toxic smoke and ash.

If we have the courage to unravel the snarled threads, and the will to learn the skill of mending, we can take the tapestry from the cold stone walls and reweave it into a blanket, a tent, a tablecloth. Something that brings comfort, shelter, and nourishment to all who gather around it. Who did we say we would be: the witches who cling to the threadbare, or the witches who remake ourselves?

Racism is woven through the history of our craft. This path is where we work magic to trace those threads of oppression. To unravel legacies of magical violence. To bear witness to and acknowledge our past and continuing complicity in harm. To grieve and set out on a journey of repair.

This offering is an opportunity for white identifying people to explore white supremacy culture and our role and responsibilities in undoing racism and anti-Blackness. We welcome and recognize the gift of the presence of any Black, Indigenous, and Witches of Color who choose to join us.

Cultural Appropriation: DARC Curriculum Questions and Discussion
July 22, 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm

We will begin the session viewing a 6-minute video which lays out a fundamental understanding for cultural appropriation. We will then address the three questions outlined in the DARC curriculum:
1. What are common ways we see cultural appropriation and cultural theft happen in the Reclaiming community?
2. What would be useful to shift as a community to stop our cultural appropriation
practices?
3. How can microaggressions contribute to cultural appropriation?

This can start our conversation or become its central focus, depending on the needs and desires of the participants around the topic of cultural appropriation. We may very well leave the session with more questions than answers.

You’ll learn how to reduce anxiety that lives in your body with simple bodywork maneuvers you can do yourself. We’ll cover other self soothing touch exercises, drumming to relax and ease into rhythm with your heart rate, finding plant friends to be healing allies, and time permitting, we invite you to bring your go-to techniques in this strange almost-after-pandemic time.

Sound is one of the most powerful forces on this planet. A song can lull an infant to sleep, while a soundwave, at the right frequency, can shatter a glass.

Join us in this 2 hour class and experience this transformative tool for yourself. Together we will investigate our personal relationship with sound, and with our voices. We will explore ways to use our voices that go beyond what we’ve been taught to think of as a typical “performance” setting. We’ll touch on the science behind the power of sound– what makes it such an effective tool, and why we respond the way we do to (what amounts to) simple vibrations. Participants will learn to hone their relationship with sound, and to wield their own voices in service to their community and their intentions.

Curious about how to weave music into your practice? This workshop is for you.
Looking to use sound to build community, guide ritual, and anchor meditative practices? You’ve come to the right place.
You have a voice. Are you ready to use it?
Are you ready to be heard?
