Intent for the 2009 SpiralHeart WitchCamp: Forging new alliances,
putting down new roots, singing the song of the land. |
This year we are honoring the Goddess Brigid and exploring the wisdom of Her stories and lore.
Camp will be held at the Four Quarters InterFaith Sanctuary, a retreat center in southern Pennsylvania. Tenting is the primary housing accommodation at Four Quarters. Two bathhouses with flush toilets and hot showers are located in the campgrounds. SpiralHeart has a limited number of loaner tents and equipment available. In addition, volunteers can help set up and take down your tent. SpiralHeart is committed to providing assistance to those who wish to attend but need some help in making their housing work. If you need assistance, email registrar@spiralheart.org, use the words “Housing assistance” in the subject line.
There are limited indoor accommodations at two locations. The Sleeping Loft is located near the Farm House, about a mile from the center of camp, and can accommodate up to 16 individuals. You must be able to climb stairs in order to stay in the Sleeping Loft. The Dorm is wheelchair accessible. It is a single room cabin that accommodates up to 16 individuals in bunks and is located in the campgrounds near a bathhouse.
Your Camp Experience
Each person's experience at WitchCamp can be dramatically different depending on what they bring with them and how much of themselves they put into the experience. Camp can be a significant investment of time and energy, but click here and you can read about powerful personal experiences of people who've attended camp previous years. Our camp instruction book, SpiralBound, will be mailed out to those who have registered for camp. To download the latest pdf version of the 2009 edition of this book right-click this link to save it to your computer (the file is over 1 M in size so trying to read it via your browser may cause the browser to hang).
How You'll Spend Your Week.
Mornings are for Exploration. You'll choose a course to concentrate upon from a variety of offerings, ranging from introductory to advanced skills-work. Your path facilitators, through a variety of methods, will assist your development of a deep connection with the Earth and your companions. Click here for a description of the paths
Afternoons are for Reflection. You'll be able to talk about what you're experiencing with the members of your affinity group. You'll hike through lush woodlands, or bask in the warming sun. And you'll have opportunities to learn new skills and crafts.
Evenings are for Celebration. You'll join with the rest of the camp as we co-create a living, vibrant community through rich, deeply moving ritual planned by our facilitation team, based on the week's intention and sharing of the ongoing work from the various path s.
Please note: During the intense Magic of Witchcamp, Spiralheart is an intentionally drug and alcohol free community.
